PR officer temporary

A good story deserves the right attention. That's where you come in. You write, pitch, organize and follow up. You get your energy from working with clients and journalists, and you like to see your work get things moving.
For Small Talk, Hannibal's in-house PR agency, we're looking for a temporary PR officer (maternity cover) who can roll up their sleeves on our projects right away. You help clients get noticed with relevant stories and a well-thought-out press approach.
It's a temporary role up to and including February 2027, with a chance of a longer collaboration, depending on how Small Talk grows and whether it's a mutual match.
The job
- You develop and carry out PR actions: from the first angle to the follow-up with newsrooms.
- You write and edit press releases, pitches, press copy and other PR content.
- You put together relevant press lists and keep our media contacts up to date.
- You approach journalists and newsrooms with targeted proposals and follow up on their questions.
- You help organize press moments, interviews, product launches and events.
- You stay in touch with clients, gather input and keep them posted on ongoing actions.
- You track media coverage and put together clear overviews of the results.
- You work with your Hannibal colleagues to make stories work within broader communication campaigns too.
Who are you?
- You already have some relevant work experience in PR or communications and can handle practical PR tasks independently.
- You know the basics of the Belgian media landscape and enjoy figuring out which story suits which journalist or newsroom.
- You write fluently, correctly and with a feel for news value.
- You're great at organizing and following up. Even when several deadlines collide, you keep the overview.
- You make contacts easily and aren't afraid to pick up the phone to pitch a story or follow up on a question.
- You work accurately, take the initiative and switch smoothly between different clients and topics.
- You have an excellent command of Dutch. Knowledge of French and English is a plus.
- You're available to start at short notice.
